During my education in Czechia in 2006-2007, I attended a workshop called “To See The Music”, delivered by my professor Karel Misek, a poster artist.
This workshop excited me, because music has a very important place in my life. This has led me to create a poster design about Fazıl Say, who is a nationally and internetionally renowned composer. Since it was not easy to access information on the internet at that time, as it is today, I asked a friend living in Turkey to send me the DVD of the Nazım Hikmet Oratorio. When observing the composer play, I was very much moved by the grace of his hand gestures. It was as if his hands were also an instrument. That’s why I put his hands in the lead role in the poster, and decided to paint his fingers as a piano keyboard.
This poster design was exhibited at the Talichouv music festival in Czechia and Echerolle in France. But more importantly, it was exhibited at the 21st Warsaw International Poster Biennale. I'm delighted to have one of my works in this biennial, which I’ve been following closely for years.
